Company spirit and culture

Cabinet making in a league of its own

The company culture at Multiform is just as unique as our kitchens. It comes from a strong, proud artisan tradition of always doing your very best rather than making do with ‘good enough’. This culture’s roots go right back to 1982, when founder Carsten Michelsen set out to create classic kitchens that could last for generations.

The high ambitions for the product characterise the culture: not just in the carpentry, but all the way across Multiform. Everyone knows that it takes care and close cooperation to hand-craft carpenter’s kitchens of uncompromising quality. A strong sense of camaraderie across the organisation is crucial. Read more about how we strengthen this team spirit and attract the market’s most skilled employees and managers.

Passion for craftsmanship

For 33 year-old Johan Clausen, the choice was a small matter. He dropped out of university and opted instead to study wood and classic handicraft. This led him to start a carpentry apprenticeship at Multiform.

Johan fits in perfectly with the other apprentices and experienced specialists at the workshop. “I’ve worked at a carpenter’s shop before, and I absolutely love it. There’s a great team spirit when you work closely to make something together.”

The right shelf

Jacob Hauschild managed 1½ years of his physiotherapy education in Copenhagen and had windows opening up in West Jutland before he found his right career choice. He had just received his apprentice certificate as a newly qualified cabinet maker from Multiform in Kibæk.

“I think wood is a fantastic material to work with. Every single piece of wood is unique and behaves in its own special way. It’s fascinating that a piece of wood from the forest can be processed into everything from chairs and tables to kitchens that last for generations,” says Jacob Hauschild, who is presently enjoying the fragrance of freshly-cut wood and the camaraderie at the Multiform workshop.

Summer holiday tradition

We have a cosy summer holiday tradition here at Multiform, where we get together for an outside lunch with sausages on the barbecue. A positive company culture is the foundation for success.

Memorable experiences and tired calf muscles

They ride out together and return home together. This is the philosophy when a team of colleagues from Multiform and one of the company’s collaborative partners go on a bike ride together. In summer 2019, they chose one of the longer routes: The 275 km-long ‘DGI Hærvejsløbet’ cycling route from Flensborg to Viborg.

“We work in a wide range of different jobs and at different levels in Multiform. But when we exercise or run together, then we’re just one big family with a fantastic team spirit.”

A strong company culture

A strong company culture is crucial to our success. Here, the production manager’s birthday is celebrated with a fastelavn piñata and crowning of the ‘cat king’ and ‘cat queen’.
